How to Sort Portal Display Items

While using Portal for Teamcenter Engineering, some users like the order to be alphabetical (I myself prefer this method). By default the list is ordered by time date stamp mixed with the users ability to re-arrange the items manually. Here is what you can do to alter the view:

Log into Portal -> Edit -> Option … -> General (tree level) -> UI (tree branch) -> Tree Displaying Order (section in pane)

The options for “Tree Displaying Order” are (ascending, descending, not sorting)

not sorting = Default behavior
ascending = based on ASCII value

• A is smaller then a
• Z is smaller then a
• numbers goes first
• then UPPER case letter
• then lower case letters

Example result is:
11111
Apple
Zebra
anchor
zeta
