Turn Off Smooth View Transitions in NX

NX 3 introduced “Smooth View Transistions”. What this is, is when you change the orientation of the views, fit, or zoom it does not jump to that new view. Instead it creates incrimental steps between the view your at to the new view you want.

There is a trade off with this smooth view transistion of performance. Usually not a big issue with modern machines but if you have a older more taxed system, turning this off will help.

The smooth transisitions are not only for aesthetic reasons, but also help it keeping the user anchored on where they are in the file.

Set default settings:

File -> Utilities -> Customer Defaults -> Gateway (section) -> Visualization (sub-section) -> Performance (tab) -> Disable Smooth View Change (toggle).

All new and existing parts will have this set

Set session setting:

Preferences -> Visualization Performance -> General Settings (tab) -> Disable Smooth View Change (toggle)

The next time you start NX it will go back to the seat or site settings

Check this and ok the dialog, the next time you launch NX it will not transisition with the smooth view.
