Launch NX from Portal

To Enable Launching NX from Portal (v9) by an icon. Do the following…

From Portal: Edit -> Options -> NX (options section, after Change Management folder) -> “Show Open in NX command:” (toggle)

In Portal v9 you do not need to restart Portal for the icon in the toolbar to turn on (version 8 you had to restart Portal). There will now be a NX icon available.

How to Use

  • When you don’t have anything selected and pick the NX icon it will launch NX with no parts loaded
  • If you have a NX dataset selected and pick this button it will launch NX with that part loaded
  • Anything selected that is not a NX dataset it will present you with an error
