History of Unigraphics
Ever wanted to know how far back Unigraphics went? Where it started from?

The PFK box? Ever want to know what the vetern users of NX mean when you say “I want the PFK box back”. Before mice where common place there was joysticks, and command entry devices. The PFK box was a way for users to tell Unigraphics what to do. It looked like the users where really working fast and hard but compared to today it was very slow. For that time it was a great enhancement. Today we complain about the number of mouse clicks and mouse movements to do something, then it was all buttons to do everything.
Check this site (plmworld.org/museum/) out about the history of the company and the product that was transformed into what we call NX today. NX has gone through a few name changes. As of recently (a few years ago) it was refered to as Unigraphics (users called it UG), then Unigraphics NX, now just NX. Here is a link to the full history of the Unigraphics company along with it’s flagship application Unigraphics. The link is to plmworld.org.
